The Ondo State Government has announced the immediate and open-ended shutdown of St. Louis Primary School in Ondo town, within Ondo West Local Government Area.
The directive was given by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who said the decision followed the school’s continued breach of regulations guiding private schools in the state.
Ajibefun explained that inspections and reports on the school’s activities revealed lapses that fell short of approved operational standards.
He said the move was in line with the government’s resolve to ensure that all privately owned educational institutions comply fully with existing laws and policies.
The commissioner noted that the closure would remain in force until the school rectifies the identified shortcomings and satisfies all regulatory requirements.
He called on parents and guardians of pupils affected by the decision to comply with the order and seek alternative schooling options.
Ajibefun reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to enforcing quality control and maintaining acceptable standards across the education sector in Ondo State.
