Kogi State has been plunged into mourning following the sudden deaths of three prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The late leaders, Onojah James Ignatius, Jatto Onimisi Suleiman, and Alih Atabo, were recognised for their unwavering commitment to public service and party loyalty.
The announcement came on Monday from the Kogi State Government through the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo.
He described their passing as “a profound loss to the state and the APC family.”
Onojah James Ignatius, who served as Special Adviser to the Governor and formerly chaired Igalamela Local Government Area, was celebrated for his grassroots leadership and passion for community development.
Jatto Onimisi Suleiman, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, earned praise for his humility, dedication, and prioritisation of public interest above personal gain.
Alih Atabo, chairman of the APC in Anyigba Ward, Dekina Local Government Area, was remembered as a committed party stalwart whose influence strengthened the APC at the ward level.
The commissioner did not reveal the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
However, he conveyed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the communities of Igalamela, Okene, Dekina, and all others touched by their dedication,” Fanwo said.
“Their legacy of service and sacrifice will continue to guide and inspire us.”
The state government emphasised that the contributions of the three leaders have left an enduring impact on Kogi’s political landscape and the growth of the All Progressives Congress.
