A member of the House of Representatives representing Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Osi Federal Constituency of Kwara State, Raheem Olawuyi, has said the All Progressives Congress has never relied on electoral manipulation to win elections.
The lawmaker dismissed allegations that the ruling party rigged its way into power, insisting that its victories had consistently been the result of sustained grassroots mobilisation.
Olawuyi spoke on Saturday in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area, during the unveiling of the APC electronic membership registration for Omu-Aran Ward I.
He said the party’s approach had always centred on early preparation and active voter engagement rather than electoral malpractice.
According to him, effective mobilisation at polling units often secures victory long before election day, leaving little room for opponents to influence outcomes.
Olawuyi explained that the ongoing e-registration exercise was aimed at revalidating the party’s membership base and aligning it with its electoral performance nationwide.
He added that the electronic process would help determine the APC’s true numerical strength from the ward level to the national level while eliminating multiple registrations through linkage with the National Identification Number.
