I will step down for no one – Atiku insist on 2027 presidential ambition

Must read

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reaffirmed his determination to contest the 2027 presidential election, dismissing speculation about withdrawal outright.

A statement released by his media office stressed that Atiku remains focused, saying no individual or group can stop him.

In the statement, Atiku accused the Presidency and ruling APC of interfering with opposition parties and undermining democratic competition nationwide.

He warned that such actions signal attempts to impose a one party system, describing it as dangerous for Nigeria’s politics.

Moreover, Atiku alleged that forces linked to the Presidency were trying to influence the ADC’s internal presidential selection process decisions.

However, he said all aspirants, including Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, would face delegates at an open convention nationwide soon.

Atiku insisted calls for him to step down betray voters, adding that he will pursue his ambition lawfully without compromise.
