Suspected kidnappers have abducted a woman and her child along the Supare–Ayegunle road in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident, which occurred on the Akoko axis, was said to have thrown residents of the area into fear and anxiety.
It was gathered that the victim is a nursing mother who was taken away together with her baby during the attack.
A source, who requested anonymity, disclosed that the woman’s husband is a furniture maker who is widely known in Akungba community.
“The husband is into furniture and very popular in Akungba area. His wife was kidnapped alongside his baby,” the source said.
When contacted by The Hope, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command had yet to fully confirm the incident.
“Information at my disposal is still sketchy, and I can’t confirm it yet. However, I’ll revert once there’s enough information,” he said.
