Akor Adams leaves Super Eagles camp after Mozambique rout

Must read

Super Eagles forward, Akor Adams, has been granted permission to leave the national team’s camp following Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The development was confirmed in a brief update shared on the Super Eagles’ official X handle on Tuesday.

According to the team, Adams was allowed to depart the camp to attend to his mother, who was reported to have been hospitalised.

“Akor Adams has been granted permission to leave camp to go be with his mum, who was hospitalised yesterday. We’re sending prayers and strength to him and wishing his mum a quick recovery,” the statement read.

The striker had earlier received the news before Nigeria’s last-16 encounter but still featured in the match and scored the fourth goal of the game.

His availability for the Super Eagles’ quarter-final fixture remains uncertain, with Nigeria set to face either DR Congo or Algeria on Saturday.
