One of the survivors of the fatal crash that occurred during the 2025 Ame-Wo-Ba-Eggon carnival procession in Nassarawa Eggon, Nasarawa State, has died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Lafia.
The deceased, Ayaka Usman Kigbu, was among those injured when three trucks were involved in an accident near the Eggon Community Secondary School, the venue of the carnival.
The crash, which occurred on Sunday, December 28, 2025, had earlier claimed four lives, while several other participants sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Kigbu was rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, where he had been on admission since the incident.
He was confirmed dead on Sunday, January 4, 2026, according to sources close to the family.
The news of his death was later announced by a close friend, Michael Ozigi Friday, in a Facebook post on Sunday.
