Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of fire that ravaged a residential building in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident occured on Tuesday at Eleha house, Nemo area, Apata in Ibadan.
Sources disclosed that the fire was as a result of electrical appliances plugged unattended to that resulted into fire.
No life was lost in the incident.
Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident.
Akinwande made this disclosure via a statement issued on Wednesday.
He said that no life was lost in the incident.
Akinwande in the statement said “On getting there, it was a room at the upper floor of a storey residential building engulfed with flames. Our officers quickly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the ground floor of the building as well as all the nearby buildings and properties.
“No casualty was recorded, the fire incident was as a result of electrical appliances plugged unattended to and ignited combustibles, and set the building ablaze”.
