The Obidient Movement has said that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, will soon make public his decision on the platform he intends to contest the 2027 general elections.
The National Coordinator of the movement, Yunusa Tanko, disclosed this during an interview on Prime Time, a programme aired on Arise Television.
Tanko said Obi would personally take and announce the decision, noting that many Nigerians and supporters across the world were keenly awaiting his next political move.
According to him, the former Anambra State governor remains a highly sought-after political figure, adding that his growing relevance within and outside Nigeria places him in a strong position ahead of the next election cycle.
He explained that Obi has been working closely with a coalition, describing him as a team player who believes in collective effort and consensus-building.
Tanko further revealed that the coalition Obi is involved with has since given rise to a political party, stressing that the former presidential candidate has actively contributed to the process and remains committed to the group.
He added that Obi’s eventual pronouncement would be welcomed by his supporters, expressing confidence that the decision would reflect his belief in freeing Nigeria from poor leadership and the hardship currently faced by citizens.
Tanko concluded by assuring that Obi’s announcement would come soon, urging Nigerians to remain patient as they await his next political step.
