Fatima Buhari, daughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that her father’s former private secretary, Tunde Sabiu, wielded excessive influence during his time in office.
Fatima made the claim in a post shared on her verified X handle in the early hours of Tuesday, sparking reactions on social media.
“My father’s former private secretary, Tunde Sabiu, had too much power during Buhari’s presidency,” she said.
Her comment drew criticism from some users on the platform, including Ahmad Sadeeq, who accused her of seeking attention using the Buhari family name.
“You are using Buhari’s family name to chase clout. Allow him and his family to rest abeg,” Sadeeq wrote.
Tunde Sabiu is a nephew of the former President and was known to be one of Buhari’s closest aides during his administration.
He has also been linked in public discourse to the controversial naira redesign policy introduced ahead of the 2023 general elections, a move that generated widespread debate across the country.
