Gunmen have attacked Tudun Wada community in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing and beheading the village head in a brutal assault.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Monday by a security analyst known as Bakatsine.
According to the post, the attack occurred on Sunday afternoon when suspected gunmen linked to notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji, stormed the community in broad daylight.
The assailants were said to have overpowered residents before killing the village head, an act that reportedly threw the community into panic and fear.
“Yesterday afternoon, suspected Bello Turji-linked gunmen attacked Tudun Wada community in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State, beheading the village head. Residents say the attack occurred in broad daylight, sparking widespread fear,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, the Sokoto State Police Command and other relevant security agencies had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
