Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has sent goodwill messages to Nigerians as Christians celebrate Christmas and the country prepares to enter the New Year, calling on citizens to embrace unity, compassion, and renewed hope for national progress.

In a Christmas and New Year message released on Thursday, the governor described the festive season as a time for reflection, prayers, and the strengthening of bonds across religious and ethnic lines.

According to him, the period offers an opportunity for Nigerians to reaffirm shared values of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

Moreover, Idris encouraged residents of Kebbi State and Nigerians at large to seek divine guidance for the nation’s affairs, expressing confidence that Nigeria’s future remains secure under God’s direction.

He noted that faith and collective optimism are essential at a time when the country is navigating economic and social challenges.

The governor further said Nigeria’s diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a weakness.

He stressed that the country’s multi-religious and multi-ethnic identity was divinely designed to promote national cohesion and mutual respect, urging citizens to continue to uphold tolerance as a foundation for sustainable development.

However, Idris acknowledged prevailing economic difficulties and urged Nigerians not to lose faith.

He said sustained efforts by federal, state, and local governments would yield improved living conditions, adding that current reforms were aimed at long-term stability and growth.

Highlighting governance priorities, the governor reaffirmed the commitment of his administration, alongside that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to advancing development in Kebbi State and across Nigeria.

He said notable progress had been recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social empowerment over the past two years.

Furthermore, Idris emphasized that national recovery and prosperity depend largely on unity and cooperation among citizens, noting that collective responsibility remains critical to achieving economic stability.

He also appealed to wealthy individuals to support the less privileged during the festive season, saying acts of generosity would help foster peace, social harmony, and shared progress.

Concluding the message, the governor expressed gratitude to the people of Kebbi State for their continued support and cooperation, assuring them that his administration remains committed to fulfilling its promises and justifying the confidence reposed in it.
