Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has declared that Christmas is not just a festive season.
Obasa in a statement issued on Wednesday noted that Christmas is a reminder of hope and faith.
He made these assertions in his Christmas message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola.
The statement was made available to Afripost on Thursday.
Obasa in the statement described the season as a time for reflection.
The Speaker while speaking, maintained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is determined to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria.
Obasa while speaking further used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to draw inspiration from the birth of Jesus Christ.
He added that the birth of Jesus symbolises hope, humility and sacrifice.
He said, “Christmas is more than a festive occasion; it is a profound reminder of hope and faith.
“As we celebrate, let us keep faith alive in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is poised to turn the fortunes of Nigerians around through purposeful leadership”.
“As we exchange gifts and share joy, let us renew our commitment to peace, mutual respect, and progress.
“Together, we can build a Lagos and a Nigeria that reflect the aspirations of every citizens”.
