The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has extended Christmas greetings to Nigerians, especially Christians, urging them to use the season to foster peace, love and unity across the country.
In a Christmas message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio stressed that the yuletide period should be marked by kindness, generosity and compassion for one another, particularly for the less privileged in society.
The Senate President said the birth of Jesus Christ symbolises peace, love and selflessness, noting that Christmas should be a time of joy, reflection and renewed commitment to harmonious living among Nigerians of all faiths.
“On behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate and entire 10th National Assembly, I wish to heartily rejoice with our Christian faithful on this joyful occasion of Christmas.
“And to our brothers and sisters of other faiths, I invite you to join us in celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ. I urge you all to exude love throughout this period and beyond. Let’s tolerate one another and strive to be every other brothers’ keeper,” Akpabio said.
He also called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast despite prevailing challenges, while praying for enduring peace, unity and progress in the country.
Akpabio expressed confidence in the direction of the nation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging citizens to continue supporting the administration in anticipation of better days ahead.
