Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has taken a swipe at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saying he began making money at the multinational level long before the minister started practicing as a lawyer.
The second term governor made this known during a live media chat held at the Government House in Agodi, Ibadan.
Makinde disclosed that at the age of 29, he was already earning millions of dollars while working with oil companies, at a time when, according to him, Wike had only just completed law school.
He further alleged that the FCT minister aligned himself with President Bola Tinubu in a move aimed at weakening the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), particularly in Oyo State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Oyo State governor said this development came to light during a meeting with President Tinubu in Abuja, where he claimed to have confronted Wike, insisting that such actions were not part of the earlier understanding before the meeting with the president.
