Fast rising Nigerian actor, Mike Afolarin has recounted an uncomfortable experience with fans, describing it as the most ridiculous encounter he has had since becoming a public figure.
Speaking during an interview with media personality VJ Adams, the actor said some fans crossed personal boundaries by kissing him without his consent during a night outing in Lagos.
“Getting unsolicited kisses is the most ridiculous fan experience I have had. Yeah, getting kissed without my consent. It happened in Lagos, in a club. So, I guess everybody was intoxicated,” he said.
Mike added that while he appreciates the love and support from fans, personal boundaries should be respected at all times. He stressed that consent is important, regardless of a person’s celebrity status.
The actor rose to wider recognition for his role as Ishaya Bello in the Netflix series Far From Home. He has also featured in several Nollywood films, including Kasala!, Soólè, Your Excellency, Adire and Battle on Buka Street.
