Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
The lawmakers announced their defection on Thursday, marking another significant shift in the state’s political alignment.
Their decision comes barely a week after the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, also moved to the ruling APC.
Those who crossed over are Manuchim Umezuruike, representing Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency, and Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency.
Others are Awaji-Inombek Abiante, who represents Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency, and Boma Goodhead of Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.
The latest development signals an intensifying wave of defections among Rivers politicians following recent changes in the state’s political leadership.
