Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, has paid a courtesy visit to Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, signalling growing interest by African private sector leaders in cross-border investments and regional partnerships.

The visit brought together a mix of political experience and entrepreneurial influence, as Dr. Uzochukwu was accompanied by former Sierra Leonean President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, and Flutterwave Chief Executive Officer, Olugbenga Agboola, a leading figure in Africa’s digital payments ecosystem.

Moreover, the presence of Agboola, who has played a central role in advancing fintech innovation across the continent, underscored the increasing convergence between traditional investment interests and Africa’s fast-growing digital economy.

Agboola, a cybersecurity engineer with an MBA from the University of Westminster and executive training from the MIT Sloan School of Management, leads one of Africa’s most prominent financial technology firms.

According to a post shared by Dr. Uzochukwu on his Instagram handle, discussions with President Hichilema focused on strategic investments and the development of sustainable partnerships aimed at accelerating Africa’s economic growth.

“‎Our discussions centered on strategic investments and fostering sustainable partnerships that will shape the future of Africa’s economic growth,” Uzochukwu said.

“The prospects are bright, and we are eager to bring our shared vision to life.”

Furthermore, he described the engagement as an opportunity to align private capital with forward-looking governance, stressing that leadership collaboration remains critical to unlocking Africa’s long-term potential.

“With visionary leaders like these steering progress, the future is in capable hands,” he added, hinting at possible investment initiatives in Zambia and beyond.

Hence, the high-level courtesy call reflects a broader trend of African business leaders engaging directly with governments to explore opportunities in infrastructure, technology, hospitality, and other growth-driven sectors.

While specific investment details were not disclosed, Uzochukwu indicated that further developments would be unveiled in due course.

“Watch this space,” he said. “The journey has only just begun.”
