NLC protest over insecurity

Must read

Activities were grounded in Enugu on Wednesday as the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress commenced its planned protest against rising insecurity across the country.

The protest, led by the state NLC Chairman, Comrade Fabian Nwigbo, disrupted commercial and vehicular movements as workers and sympathisers took to the streets to express dissatisfaction with the worsening security situation.

Nwigbo lamented the persistent threats to lives and property, calling on the government to urgently strengthen security measures and protect citizens.

Prior to the protest, the National President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, alongside human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and other stakeholders, had gathered at the congress headquarters to coordinate activities ahead of the demonstration.

The labour union had earlier announced plans to stage a nationwide protest to draw attention to the growing insecurity confronting Nigerians.
