World star wrestler, John Cena has completed his final match in the WWE and retires from the wrestling sport.
AFRIPOST gathered that 48-year-old wrestler-turned-actor first joined in 2001 and has since won several titles, breaking Ric Flair’s previous record when he won his 17th championship earlier this year.
John on Saturday took part in his last match after 24 years, going against Gunther at the Main Event in Washington, DC.
Unfortunately for him, John did not go out on a high as he ended up tapping out of the final match.
Following the match, he remained in the ring and took in the final moments and even kissed the ring.
Once he turned towards the entrance wrap, he was joined by many current and past WWE wrestlers and executives for a big sendoff.
Triple H then pointed to a tribute video for Cena’s career, which played before he left his shoes and armbands in the ring before heading up the ramp, taking a bow and giving a salute.
