Again security forces kill another notorious Sokoto bandit leader

Must read

Joint security operatives have dealt a major blow to armed criminal groups in Sokoto State with the killing of a feared bandit commander, Kachalla Na’Allah, during a coordinated operation in Isa Local Government Area.

According to security sources, the operation unfolded on Friday along the route linking Girnashe and Kuka Tara villages in Tsabre Ward, where operatives intercepted the suspect and engaged him in a brief confrontation that ended in his death.

Moreover, the mission was carried out by a combined team of Mobile Police officers and Community Guard personnel, working alongside troops of the Nigerian Army.

The collaboration, officials said, reflects a renewed push to tighten security across flashpoints in the eastern axis of the state.

Na’Allah was widely believed to be a close associate and cousin of Ibrahim Chimmo, a notorious bandit leader reportedly operating from the Sububu Forest corridor.

His death is expected to disrupt coordination and logistics within several criminal cells linked to the forest enclave.

A security official familiar with the operation said the development marked “a critical setback for bandit leadership structures that have relied on fear and mobility to evade justice.”

The official added that sustained pressure would continue until the remaining kingpins are dismantled.

Furthermore, the latest success comes only days after troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division neutralised another high-profile bandit leader, Kachalla Kallamu, during a separate operation in Sabon Birnin Local Government Area.

Reacting to the development, the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on Security Matters, retired Colonel Ahmad Usman, praised the military and other security agencies for what he described as consistent progress.

He said the results showed that “coordinated intelligence and local cooperation are beginning to yield tangible security gains.”

Residents of affected communities have also expressed cautious optimism, noting that while challenges remain, the recent operations signal a firm resolve by authorities to restore peace and stability across Sokoto State.
