President Bola Tinubu has hailed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as one of the strongest performers in his cabinet, praising his courage, resilience, and results-driven leadership as the minister marks his birthday.
In a statement released by the Presidency, on December 12, Tinubu described Wike as an audacious public servant whose work continues to redefine infrastructure delivery in the nation’s capital.
According to the President, Wike’s style of governance reflects purpose, discipline, and an uncommon determination to overcome bureaucratic barriers.
Tinubu specifically highlighted recent progress in Abuja’s road network, noting that the long-stalled Apo–Karshi road project had finally moved forward under Wike’s supervision after remaining dormant for 14 years.
The intervention, he said, underscored the minister’s readiness to confront longstanding challenges head-on.
Moreover, the President commended the FCT minister’s “can-do attitude” and consistency, stressing that his performance has reinforced public confidence in the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu observed that Wike’s impact has been visible across the capital, with infrastructure expansion accelerating at a pace rarely seen in previous years.
“Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer developing infrastructure in the Federal Capital as never seen before,” the President said.
He added that the minister’s reputation as “Mr Project” had extended beyond Rivers State into national service.
Tinubu also acknowledged Wike’s political background, noting that his commitment to national development has transcended party lines.
According to him, effective governance requires competence and results rather than partisan loyalty.
The President concluded by wishing the former Rivers State governor a happy birthday, while praying for renewed strength and wisdom as he continues to oversee the transformation of the Federal Capital Territory.
