Must read

Popular Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa has emerged as the new national vice president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following the guild’s national election held in Benin City, Edo State.

Her victory was announced after a keenly observed voting exercise in which delegates from different state chapters participated.

Reacting to the win, the actress said her emergence was proof of her long-running commitment to the guild.

“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she said.

“This achievement reflects the trust and confidence reposed in me by members of the guild, and I am certain that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards.”

She added that her time in office would be defined by accountability and new ideas.

“As I take on this important national role, my tenure will be marked by transparency, innovation, and impactful service that will inspire both current and future members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.”

Dayo Amusa, who has been active in Nollywood since the early 2000s, is known for her acting, filmmaking, and music projects. She also recently returned to full-time movie production after a short break, telling fans earlier in the year that her “best is yet to come.”

Beyond filmmaking, Amusa also serves as vice president of the Ijebu Pride Network, a socio-cultural body promoting the heritage of Ijebuland and Remoland.
