Residents of Kururawa community in Lakwaya district, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, were thrown into panic on Sunday night after armed bandits stormed a private residence, abducting an elderly man and injuring his son.
According to a post on X by Bakatsine, the attackers targeted the home of Alhaji Yakubu Na Tsohuwa.
During the raid, his eldest son, Badamasi, was reportedly injured while trying to stop the assailants.

On Monday, Bakatsine wrote, “Yesterday night, armed bandits invaded a private residence in Kururawa community of Lakwaya district, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State. During the attack, they abducted an elderly resident, Alhaji Yakubu Na Tsohuwa and injured his eldest son, Badamasi, when he tried to stop them.”
The post noted that this is the first time the community has faced such violence, leaving residents alarmed and questioning why Kururawa has now become a target.
Bakatsine added, “With this being the first time the community has ever faced such an attack, residents are now left wondering: why did the violence reach Kururawa now?”
Photographs shared with the post showed the elderly victim, Alhaji Yakubu Na Tsohuwa, and his son receiving medical attention after the attack.
