Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, former Enugu State Governor, has called on Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi to withdraw his petition against President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and instead join forces to build a new Nigeria. Nnamani believes that Obi’s lack of national appeal and spread makes his petition against Tinubu dead on arrival and a demarketing tactic. He urged Obi to come down from his high horse and work with others to negotiate on behalf of the Igbo and South East for a safe landing to include their share of the accruals of the commonwealth.
According to Nnamani, it is time for the Igbo to confront reality and align with the mainstream to participate in the making of a new Nigeria. He emphasized that the Igbo are not going anywhere and must be ready to bargain for their own share, as others are doing the same. He believes that Obi’s appeal to non-electoral matters is simply an attempt to demarket the President-elect and besmirch his reputation, and that such actions are ego-driven and a joke carried too far.
Nnamani stated that it is imperative for the Igbo to align now or risk being consigned to the backwoods of history. He urged Obi and his supporters to welcome Tinubu’s emergence as president of the greatest black nation on earth and work towards building a better Nigeria. Nnamani believes that Obi’s petition against Tinubu is bad belle and petulance, and that he should instead focus on collaborating with others to create a new Nigeria.
Nnamani urged Obi to withdraw his petition and align with Tinubu for the greater good of the nation. He believes that this is the time for the Igbo to negotiate for their fair share and participate fully in the making of a new Nigeria.
