Delta PDP suspends ex-SSG, others, Onochie criticizes Omo-Agege over APC’s defeat

Must read

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has suspended several party members for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities during the general elections. In Ekuku-Agbor Ward 5 of Ika South local government area, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Chiedu Ebie, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, and two special assistants to the governor were suspended. Similarly, in PDP Ward 10, Aladja in Udu local government area, Hon. Andrew Ekwetafia Gbise was expelled by the ward chairman and secretary.

The suspension of the above-named persons was approved in accordance with Section 58(F) of the PDP Constitution. Comrade Amachi Igunbor, the PDP chairman in Ika South, signed the letter conveying their suspension. Gbise accused the orchestrators of his expulsion, Chief Jite Brown, who contested as House of Assembly candidate for PDP and lost, of violating the party’s constitution.

Meanwhile, Lauretta Onochie, the Chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission, has challenged her suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State. The APC’s executive members in Onicha-Olona, Ward 4, Aniocha North, suspended her for alleged anti-party activities, citing her failure to deliver her polling unit and ward during the presidential/National Assembly and governorship/state assemblies elections. However, Onochie criticized the deputy Senate president and governorship candidate of the party in the state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, over the APC’s defeat.

Onochie took to her Facebook page and accused Omo-Agege of being greedy, self-centered, egocentric, and selfish, with the consequences of such behavior. She also criticized Omo-Agege’s alleged arrogance, high-sounding attitude, and betrayal of those who trusted him. According to her, biting the fingers that held the ladder for one to climb, such as betraying APC leaders from Chief Great Ogboru to President Muhammadu Buhari, has consequences.

Onochie also accused Omo-Agege of underpaying his staff, hijacking the commonwealth of ex-militants who struggle to find meaning in their lives, and excluding real APC leaders while installing touts and hoodlums as APC leaders across the state. She further alleged that Omo-Agege refused to campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or use his image during the election, which had its consequences.

The post on Onochie’s Facebook page also noted that being a closet Obidient without the Labour candidate’s knowledge ensured that Omo-Agege was used and dumped as APC leaders went about removing his posters with Obi’s image across the state. Onochie criticized Omo-Agege for putting his faith in a leprous mentally deranged tout and native doctor instead of building bridges.

In conclusion, the post on Onochie’s Facebook page highlights the consequences of Omo-Agege’s actions during the APC’s defeat in Delta State. According to her, the holy books say, “we reap what we sow.” If one sows weevil-infested seeds everywhere, they only have themselves to blame at harvest time. She wished that the spirit of Uba Keshi, a man Omo-Agege allegedly used but could not pay a decent wage to get medical help, haunt him until he learns to respect and appreciate people.
