‘Ban them all’ – Ex-Presidential aide applauds US move against terror supporters

Must read

Former presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad has welcomed the decision of President Donald Trump’s administration to impose visa restrictions on individuals linked to terrorism financing and support.

The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, announced on Wednesday that the government would restrict “visas for those who knowingly direct, authorize, fund, support, or carry out violations of religious freedom”.

The announcement has drawn praise from several Nigerians and international advocates who allege that Christians in Nigeria continue to face persecution.

Reacting on Wednesday night, Bashir described the policy as necessary, insisting that anyone stoking violence in Nigeria deserves such sanctions.

He wrote, “This is a welcome development. All individuals, whether in Nigeria or abroad, who are causing trouble, fueling destruction or contributing to the killings in our country should be banned. Ban them all.

“They are also killing my fellow Muslims, not only your Christian brothers and sisters. If they undermine our peace and stability, they should be deprived of the privilege of ever setting foot in the United States again”.
