Charly Boy faults Reno Omokri’s inclusion in ambassadorial list, describes it ‘continental joke’

Must read

Outspoken musician and activist Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has condemned the inclusion of Reno Omokri in Nigeria’s ambassadorial nominees, branding it a “continental joke.”

Charly Boy described Nigeria as “a sour nation,” expressing shock that President Bola Tinubu would forward Omokri’s name to the Senate despite what he called the former aide’s “volume of bigotry against the Igbo” in recent months. He argued that nominating Omokri amounts to endorsing his divisive rhetoric.

“Perhaps Tinubu endorses the filth that issues from Reno’s mouth,” he wrote on X, insisting that no president committed to unity would choose “to make the clown an Ambassador.”

Calling the nomination “a spectacular mockery of this country,” he questioned how any Igbo person could “go to an embassy run by Reno with a sense of belonging or pride.”

Charly Boy further mocked the decision, referencing Omokri’s past allegations against Tinubu and describing him as “a hustling moron.”

“Tinubu’s such a let down. Why wash our national dirty linens in public? Reno is such filthy underwear,” he wrote, suggesting the president should have given Omokri “some backyard job.”

He concluded that the appointment sends a dangerous message: “Endorsing the bigotry that Reno embodies. It’s a deliberate gut-punch to national unity.”

“Ambassador Reno… Tufiakwa! I will never go to that embassy,” he declared.
