The National Youth Service Corps has cautioned Corps members across the country to desist from using social media in ways that could undermine the scheme or damage the image of the nation.
In a statement posted on X formerly Twitter on Friday, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, issued the warning while addressing members of the 2025 Batch ‘C’ at the Issele-Uku Orientation Camp in Delta State.
He stressed that inappropriate online posts by Corps members would attract sanctions, urging them instead to create content that promotes the scheme and portrays Nigeria positively.
Nafiu also advised them to avoid unauthorised trips and adhere strictly to camp rules.
He added: “Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and go for your Community Development Service.
“Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment”.
Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr John Kwaghe, briefed the DG on camp activities and disclosed that 2,101 Corps members had been deployed to the state, comprising 944 males and 1,157 females.
He said all camp exercises had progressed smoothly, with officials and Corps members showing a high level of discipline.
