Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, who chairs the Senate Committee on Aviation, has been selected as the keynote speaker for the third anniversary celebration of Ibadan Mega Voice (IMV).
The event will spotlight discussions on strengthening local government autonomy while recognising notable contributions to community development.
The club announced that the lecture, themed “Strengthening Local Government Autonomy: Opportunities and Challenges,” will headline its anniversary activities scheduled for November 30.
Moreover, the ceremony is expected to take place at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Hall within the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) complex in Ibadan.
Organisers stated that Senator Buhari will also receive the Outstanding Personality of the Year award in the Politics category during the celebration.
Furthermore, the Chief Executive Officer of Eternal Home Cemetery, Dr Adebukola Kadiri, will be honoured with the Award of Excellence in Humanitarian Services.
IMV explained that the recognition reflects her long-standing commitment to community welfare and support for vulnerable groups.
In a statement jointly signed by IMV President, Kola Olomide, and Secretary, Feyisetan Hazmat, the club described Kadiri as a model of compassion whose philanthropic work has made a measurable impact.
“Her dedication to improving the lives of disadvantaged individuals demonstrates leadership rooted in empathy,” the organisers said. They added that the award represents the group’s appreciation for her service and influence.
The organisers further noted that the event, which brings together professionals across communication, broadcasting, journalism, photography, cinematography, and digital media, aims to celebrate individuals advancing the development and unity of Ibadanland.
The ceremony is expected to draw dignitaries and stakeholders from across Oyo State as IMV rounds off its landmark third-year celebration.
