Residents of Ore, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, have been thrown into confusion following the discovery of a young woman’s lifeless body in a popular hotel in the town.
The incident occurred late in the afternoon when hotel employees forced their way into the room after knocking repeatedly without getting any response.
The management, which withheld the hotel’s name, said the situation left staff rattled.
The facility, situated along the Ore–Okitipupa Road and frequently used by travellers and residents, became a scene of distress when workers found the woman lying motionless on the bed.
A hotel source told The Hope that the deceased had checked in earlier with a man identified as Sodiq Ganiyu.
“The two were seen together earlier in the day, but when staff gained access to the room, the lady was found unresponsive,” the source said.
Ganiyu was reported to have abandoned the premises immediately after the incident was uncovered, sparking concerns about his role in the development.
A security operative confirmed that the woman’s body had been taken to the Ore morgue for further examination.
He added that although initial checks showed no visible injuries, a full autopsy has been ordered to ascertain the cause of death.
