Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, has arrived in Sokoto State alongside members of the IPOB leader’s family for a scheduled visit to the separatist agitator.
Ejimakor was accompanied on the trip by Kanu’s wife, Uchechi, and his younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, following the activist’s recent conviction.
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja had sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of terrorism-related offences.
The IPOB leader was subsequently transferred to the Sokoto State Custodial Centre where he is expected to serve his sentence.
Announcing their arrival in Sokoto through a post on X, Ejimakor urged the Igbo nation to intensify efforts toward securing Kanu’s freedom.
According to Ejimakor: “I just arrived Sokoto (with Prince Emmanuel Kanu & his wife) to have a visitation with MAZI NNAMDI KANU.
“Ndigbo must vigorously rise to the urgent task of freeing #MNK from this ordeal & injustice that reflect on all of us.”
