The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko has suspended its industrial action.
The decision was confirmed by the chapter chairman, Comrade Bola Oshodi, who spoke in a telephone interview on Monday.
He said the union stepped down the strike after reviewing the understanding reached with the school management.
According to him, the lecturers considered the wider interest of the university and its students before arriving at the resolution.
Oshodi said, “For now we have suspended the strike, everything is based on the agreement we had with the University management. Management has been very supportive too, and we understand.”
“We are still been owed one month salary, but based on our love for the system and our students, we have resolved to suspend the strike,” he added.
