Popular celebrity and promoter, Cubana Chief Priest, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the South-East may vote against him in 2027 if Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu remains in detention.
The warning came shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered judgment in Kanu’s case, which sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The celebrity expressed concerns that political tensions in the region are rising and that public resentment is growing due to Kanu’s continued imprisonment.
“President @officialasiwajubat As long as MNK remains in jail you cannot & will never get up to 10,000 votes in South-East come 2027… Only MNK release can save you,” he wrote on Instagram.
Cubana Chief Priest also criticised South-East ministers, accusing them of failing to inform the president about the true public sentiment. He said none of them has the influence to restore trust in the region.
He further called on Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma to intervene, warning that the governor’s achievements could be undermined if Kanu’s detention continues.
“To My Father @he_hopeuzodimma… Appeal This Judgement & Get It Right Or Get Ready To Check Out Of The Villa Come 2027… Southeast Belongs To MNK,” he added, underscoring growing tensions across the South-East following the court ruling.
