The family house of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has reportedly been taken over by security operatives, prompting concern from his younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu.
As reported by Daily Post, Prince Kanu raised the alarm in a Facebook post early Thursday, just hours before the Federal High Court in Abuja is expected to rule on several applications filed by the Federal Government against the separatist figure.
He wrote, “Breaking news! Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s family house is currently surrounded by a large number of security agents. We are alerting the whole world.”
Justice James Omotosho is billed to deliver judgment today on the pending applications involving Kanu, who has remained in custody since 2021.
The IPOB leader is standing trial on seven terrorism-related charges, including alleged incitement, operating an unlawful organisation and actions said to threaten national security.
The development has heightened anxiety across parts of the South East, where residents fear the situation could escalate as the court’s decision draws nearer.
