BREAKING: Kanu convicted on all seven terrorism charges

Must read

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that Nnamdi Kanu, the detained head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is guilty of all seven terrorism-related allegations brought against him by the Federal Government.

The decision marks a major turn in his long-running legal battle with the authorities.

Justice James Omotosho, who delivered the judgment, stated that the prosecution substantiated every claim laid before the court.

He noted that Kanu offered no credible defence and had, in the judge’s words, “wilfully declined” to challenge the evidence presented against him.

The court’s ruling effectively confirms the government’s position that Kanu’s broadcasts and directives amounted to acts that threatened national security.

The broader implications of the conviction are expected to spark fresh political and legal debate across the country, particularly in the Southeast where his movement commands significant support.
