Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has encouraged the Super Eagles not to lose hope following their disappointing outing on Sunday.
He said the team must rise above the setback and prepare to return stronger.
In a message posted on his X handle a few mins ago and sighted by AFRIPOST, Obi said he understood how the result had affected the players, noting that representing Nigeria came with enormous responsibility and expectations.
“Our dear Super Eagles, I know how deeply yesterday’s outcome weighs on each of you. When you wear the green and white, you carry the heartbeat of the whole nation, and I acknowledge the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment you put into every match,” he wrote.
Obi urged the team to see the defeat as a stepping stone rather than a breaking point, stressing that the response to adversity was what defined great teams.
“But let this moment not break your spirit. Great teams are defined by their response to adversity. What matters now is how we stand, regroup, and rebuild with even greater discipline, focus, and preparedness. I am confident you can rise stronger,” he said.
He implored the players to maintain a positive outlook and remain committed to restoring the pride of the national team.
“Do not let today overshadow the greatness of tomorrow.
The Eagle never bows its head, it lifts its wings.
Keep your heads high and stay committed.
Nigeria believes in you, and together, we will soar again.
Keep soaring Super Eagles. -PO”
