Young citizens in Ondo State have inaugurated a political support platform to drive President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection campaign in 2027.
The group, called Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu (OYAT), brings together various youth associations and organisations across the state.
Addressing journalists on Monday, the Group Director General, Thalis Olonite Apalowo, assured that the president would secure overwhelming support from Ondo youths.
He said, “In less than two years, young Nigerians have witnessed significant steps taken to end petroleum subsidies and stabilise the foreign exchange system. Access to higher education has been made easier through the student loan initiative. Today, more young people—especially in Ondo State—are establishing small and medium enterprises, which remain the backbone of every thriving economy. The achievements are numerous.”
Apalowo added, “We will deploy our collective strength, mobilisation capacity, grassroots networks, organisational structure, communication channels, and every available resources to guarantee his reelection.”
According to him, OYAT is sponsored by Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior and an indigene of Ondo State.
He said, “When the Honourable Minister assumed office, he moved quickly into action. Over 200,000 passport backlogs were cleared. The introduction of e-gates eased airport traffic and reduced human contact—an important step in curbing corruption. A new Data Control Centre and several innovative reforms across agencies under the Ministry have also been delivered.”
