Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers in a series of coordinated operations across Borno State.

The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, North-East Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.

He said the successful operations were executed by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2 on November 9, 2025.

According to the statement, the troops encountered Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists at Dutse Kura after receiving intelligence that the insurgents were abducting civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya road.

The army said the soldiers engaged the terrorists in a gun duel, thwarted the abduction attempt, and pursued the fleeing insurgents toward the Mangari axis, where they were subdued in a follow-up encounter near a makeshift camp.

“During the clearance operation, the troops discovered 11 terrorists’ structures and rescued 86 kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children,” the statement read.

Recovered items from the operation include one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds of ammunition, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.

The army added that the terrorists’ camp was destroyed after clearance operations.

In a separate operation, troops deployed at Mangada reportedly arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers who were heading to Chilaria with various contraband items.

The seized materials included two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), approximately 1,000 litres of petrol in jerry cans, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, medical consumables, and large quantities of foodstuffs and provisions.

The military high command commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism, urging them to maintain the momentum in their ongoing efforts to deny terrorists freedom of movement across the North-East region.
