Tinubu committed to reclaiming Nigeria’s wealth from foreign control – Bisi Akande

Must read

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has said President Bola Tinubu is determined to reclaim Nigeria’s natural and economic resources from foreign powers who have long benefited from their illegal exploitation.

Akande noted that the President is working to protect the nation from both internal saboteurs and external interests seeking to weaken its stability and independence.

He stated this in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, while presenting a lecture titled “Governance, Structural Reforms and the Economic Landscape of Nigeria in the 21st Century” during the first edition of the Joel Babatola Annual Lecture organised by the Ekiti Council of Elders.

The elder statesman said Tinubu’s administration is paying close attention to developing human capacity, particularly in science and technology, to prepare young Nigerians for innovation-driven economic growth.

According to him, Tinubu focuses on “strengthening the Nigerian unity against the indigenous retrogressive saboteurs and the neo colonialist grumblers and extricating Nigerian resources from massive illegal foreign exploitations, perhaps and perhaps, at least pending the fury of the threatened invasion from the global powers and international municipalities.”

He explained that the President’s vision also includes major investments in infrastructure, especially transportation and electricity, through collaboration between the private sector and various levels of government.

He said this partnership is aimed at boosting agriculture, driving industrial development, and improving the movement of goods between rural and urban communities.

Akande’s comments come amid international reactions to reports of attacks on Christians in parts of northern Nigeria, which recently drew the attention of former United States President Donald Trump.

Trump had warned that the United States might take military action against Islamic extremists if the Nigerian government fails to stop the alleged killings of Christians in the country.
