The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just-concluded Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor, has expressed readiness to work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to ensure continued development in the state.
Ezenwafor made this known on Monday during an interview on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme monitored in Awka.
He said his relationship with Soludo dates back several years and described it as cordial and mutually respectful.
“I can assist him. I have been assisting him before; he is my friend. I brought him to work in Anambra,” he said.
Ezenwafor disclosed that he played a key role in convincing Soludo to contest the governorship election during the administration of former Governor Willie Obiano, when he served as a Senior Special Assistant.
“I convinced Soludo to contest the election in the first instance, when I was Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano.
He came, he did well, and there is no perfect person,” Ezenwafor added.
The PDP candidate commended Soludo’s handling of security challenges in the state, describing his approach as proactive.
He also advised the governor to promote inclusivity and ensure that all parts of the state feel represented in his administration.
Speaking on allegations of vote-buying during the election, Ezenwafor dismissed the claims, saying they were largely exaggerated.
