President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has extolled the virtues of veteran journalist and broadcaster, Dr. Reuben Abati, describing his commitment to excellence and love for Nigeria as truly inspiring.
Akpabio stated this in a congratulatory message personally signed by him to celebrate Abati’s 60th birthday, which was marked in Lagos on Friday.
The Senate President was represented at the event by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom.
“Your commitment to excellence and your love for Nigeria are truly inspiring. As you continue to share your insights and expertise with the nation, I pray that you will be blessed with good health, peace of mind and many more years of fruitful service,” Akpabio said.
He added that Abati’s 60th birthday was a remarkable milestone that reflected decades of hard work, dedication, and an unrelenting passion for national development.
“As you celebrate your 60th birthday, I extend to you my warmest felicitations. This milestone marks six decades of life that has witnessed remarkable achievements motivated by unwavering dedication and unrelenting passion,” he wrote.
The Senate President further praised Abati’s distinguished career, noting his contributions as a teacher, journalist, politician, and media professional.
“Your journey as a teacher, journalist, politician and consummate media figure has cast you among the pantheon of nation builders whose contributions cannot be wished away,” Akpabio stated.
He also recalled Abati’s time as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Goodluck Jonathan, describing it as a period that showcased his exceptional skill in shaping public discourse and fostering national unity.
“Your tenure as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Goodluck Jonathan brought to full manifestation your exceptional skill in shaping public discourse and fostering national unity,” Akpabio added.
