Drama as Kanu confronts DSS operative in court ahead of verdict

Must read

A dramatic scene played out at the Federal High Court, Abuja, when the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, was captured in a heated exchange with a Department of State Services (DSS) officer.

In a viral video from the courtroom, Kanu, visibly furious, was heard shouting, “You have no law, you have no law,” accusing the DSS operative of enforcing laws he does not respect.

The confrontation occurred shortly after the day’s proceedings, heightening tension as judgment in Kanu’s terrorism case draws near.

Reacting to the development, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, criticised the process, describing it as unfair.

He said, “I have always said it, in Nigeria, there appear to be two sets of rules, one for the Igbo man, and one for other Nigerians.”

The court has fixed November 20 for judgment in Kanu’s terrorism trial, following his failure to open his defence after being granted six days to do so.

Justice James Omotosho ruled that Kanu could not claim to have been denied a fair hearing, having failed to use the opportunity provided to him to defend himself.
