Alleged Christian killings: We are willing to work with you – FG to U.S

The Federal Government has declared its readiness to collaborate with the United States and other international partners to tackle Nigeria’s lingering security challenges, particularly concerns raised over the alleged killings of Christians in the country.

The government said it remains open to constructive engagement that will help eliminate terrorist groups and restore peace nationwide.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during a world press conference, stressing that Nigeria’s insecurity issues are not rooted in religion but in criminality and terrorism.

He maintained that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated a firm commitment to addressing insecurity and improving human rights conditions.

Speaking in Abuja, Idris said that in the past two years, the Tinubu administration has implemented significant reforms in the security sector, including changes in the leadership of the armed forces, which have contributed to Nigeria’s improved ranking on the Global Terrorism Index.

According to him, “The Nigerian government is willing to work with the United States and other international partners to permanently eradicate criminal elements and terrorists from our soil. We welcome collaboration that will strengthen our fight against insecurity.”

He further urged the U.S. and other nations to support President Tinubu’s vision of a peaceful and united Nigeria, noting that the government remains committed to accountability and cooperation on human rights concerns.

“President Tinubu is determined to confront and end all security challenges,” Idris added.

“Nigeria acknowledges the concerns raised by the United States, but we are also confident that the measures being implemented will yield lasting peace and stability.”
