Several people have been reportedly killed while many others remain missing after suspected herdsmen attacked Anwule community in Oglewu, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
The attackers were said to have invaded the area on Tuesday, targeting farmers working on their farmlands.
According to reports, “the attackers targeted farmers while they were working in their fields, killing several with machetes and other weapons.”
The incident, which left the community in panic, also forced many residents to flee their homes in search of safety.
“The assault has forced residents to flee their homes, seeking refuge in neighboring communities,” the report added.
