Davido’s Enugu concert at Michael Okpara Square ended in chaos on Saturday night as fans lamented bitterly over theft, overcrowding, harassment, and poor security.
The event, which formed part of the singer’s ongoing “5ive Tour,” reportedly drew far more people than the 20,000-capacity venue could handle.
Witnesses said the gates were broken and that many without tickets forced their way inside.
Several attendees took to social media to narrate their ordeals.
A user said touts entered the concert without tickets and stole valuables from people in the crowd. She also alleged that the security presence was weak throughout the night.
Another fan, described disturbing scenes of harassment and overcrowding, alleging that women were groped as people struggled for space.
She said Davido did not appear on stage until around 3 a.m., almost 12 hours after the advertised start time.
The incident sparked widespread outrage online, with fans calling for better planning and accountability from the concert organisers to avert such problem in the future.
