Abuja is set for a festive shake-up as popular Nigerian comedian Koboko Master teams up with Transcorp Hilton to bring a fresh dose of entertainment to the city’s New Year’s Day celebrations.
The duo will host “1st 2 LAFF”, a one-of-a-kind event designed to transform how residents usher in the new year, blending comedy, live music, and unmatched vibes to create a day full of laughter, rhythm, and unforgettable moments.
The maiden edition promises not just a celebration but also a thanksgiving experience for those spending New Year’s Day in the capital. The goal according to the organizers is to establish a dazzling new tradition that Abuja residents and visitors can look forward to every January 1.
A star-studded lineup will headline the show, featuring Nigeria’s top comedians including Kenny Blaq, MC Edo Pikin, Mr Patrick, and Dan the Humorous, among others. Guests will also enjoy live music performances, a live band, and high-energy mixes by DJ Romie, ensuring nonstop entertainment from start to finish.
Describing the event, Koboko Master said, “1st 2 LAFF is a dream born out of the need to give Abuja residents a reason to smile and celebrate the new year memorably.”
The much-anticipated show will take place on January 1, 2026, at the prestigious Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, starting from 5:00 PM.
With its blend of comedy, music, and a touch of glamour, 1st 2 LAFF is poised to turn New Year’s Day in Abuja from a quiet affair into a day of pure fun, laughter, and style, setting the stage for a new annual entertainment tradition in the FCT.
For years, New Year’s Day in Nigeria’s capital has been marked by quiet gatherings and church vigils. This year, however, the stage is set for Abuja to laugh, dance, and celebrate in style.
