Multitalented Nigerian Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Chatta, has again made headlines after a report of the amount he charges emerged online.
Veteran actor, Mustapha Bakare well known as Otolo had in a recent interview disclosed that the actor charge as high as five million naira to feature in a movie making him the highest paid actor.
Otolo said this while discussing reason it’s difficult for veteran actors to produce cinema movies.
He explained that while many of the veteran actors are earning N250,000 to appear in a movie, Chatta’s value has risen to N5 million.
He said; “If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid N5 million. That’s the amount he currently charges. He is the highest paid actor presently. So, my point is that he can do up to 20 jobs in a month. I brought him to my movie, ‘Jigi’ set in Ogbomoso recently.
“You can’t compare him and other young actors to some of us that are being paid between N250,000 – N300,000 and appear in just one or two films in a month. So, that is the reason it’s difficult for some of us the veterans to produce cinema movies,”
