The Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has appointed one of the sons of the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Prince Folaseeke Olakulehin as Senior Legislative Aide.
This was contained in the appointment letter issued to the son of the immediate past Olubadan.
Recall that the new appointee had previously served as a Special Adviser to the former Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan.
He had also served as an aide to the immediate past governor of Oyo State, late Abiola Ajimobi.
Abbas, in the appointment letter charged the new appointee to perform creditably.
He also advised his to bring his experience, integrity, and commitment to bear in the service of the National Assembly and Nigerians in general.
A member of House of Representatives representing Egbeda/ Ona Ara federal constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi, in his reaction, described the appointment as “a round peg in a round hole.”
The new SLA in his reaction, described the appointment as another avenue for him to serve the people.
Prince Olakulehin while speaking with journalists on Friday promised to carry out his duties without fear or favour.
He said, “It is a welcome development for Ibadan and the good people of Oyo state at large.
“This is not just an appointment, but to help carry out easy flow of legislative duties for Mr Speaker, and also to help bridge gaps amongst our party leaders in Oyo state”.
