Follow Tinubu’s body language, stop fighting me – Onyema tells govt appointees

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has advised government appointees to align with the body language of President Bola Tinubu instead of engaging in actions aimed at undermining him and his airline.

Onyema gave the advice on Wednesday during an interview on Prime Time, a programme aired on Arise Television.

He expressed concern that some individuals within government agencies appear bent on frustrating his efforts, despite his commitment to national development and job creation.

“It is very evident that there are some government agencies that do not see beyond their noses. It happens even in the legislature too, because there are people who are out there wanting to fight some battle. They are making a huge mistake because you cannot scratch anybody,” he said.

Onyema cautioned that such antagonistic behaviour could have dire consequences for the nation, stressing that loss of jobs often leads to a rise in crime.

“If you actually succeed in scratching, when everything falls, you may be the victim of the next suicide bomber, armed robber and kidnapper because when people lose their jobs, criminalities increase,” he added.

He said his motivation has always been to serve the people, not personal gain, noting that he had no interest in material possessions.

“People get fixated on bringing me down. My motivation is the people, I don’t need any more houses or cars,” he said.

Onyema appealed to public officials to take cues from President Tinubu’s vision rather than working at cross purposes with patriotic citizens.

“I keep calling on the government appointee to look at the body language of the president and follow that instead of fighting me and Air Peace,” he said.
